For maximum protection and peace of mind, steel-reinforced precast concrete is the gold standard. Unlike lightweight fiberglass shelters, our concrete units offer superior performance:No Floating or Shifting: Fiberglass units can become buoyant and pop out of the ground in areas with high water tables. Our heavy-duty concrete safe rooms weigh thousands of pounds, anchoring them firmly in place.Crush-Proof Durability: Steel-reinforced concrete withstands extreme ground pressure and flying debris far better than plastic or fiberglass alternatives.Natural Climate Control: Concrete naturally regulates temperature, keeping the interior cooler during the humid storm seasons in KY, TN, and IN.
We manufacture and install commercial-grade underground storm shelters in both 8-person and 12-person sizes. Both models are engineered for safety, comfort, and accessibility:Easy Access: Features a molded stairwell and an heavy-duty steel door for safe entry and exit.Ample Space: Approximately 6 feet of interior height provides comfortable standing room for your family.Dual Ventilation: Equipped with air vents that provide excellent airflow.
SOKY Shelters provides professional delivery and installation across Kentucky, Middle Tennessee, and Southern Indiana (including Bowling Green, Nashville, Clarksville, and Evansville). Because we deliver heavy freight, your yard will need:Width Clearance: Our delivery machines are designed to carry our 16,000lb shelters, so they need some serious clearance. If you have a fence, you will have to remove the fence prior to installation.
Adding a tornado shelter for home protection is a streamlined process handled entirely by our professional crew:Excavation: We dig a precise hole (typically around 8x12 feet depending on the model) in your chosen location.Placement: The precast concrete storm shelter is lowered into the ground and perfectly leveled.Secure Connection: The shelters are locked together by 4 steel hooks, then sealed with an additional tar and cement mix, to ensure no water or debris enters the shelter.Homeowners are responsible for landscaping or hauling away the remaining dirt after settling.
Because every property is different, we provide custom, free quotes rather than a one-size-fits-all price tag. Your total tornado shelter cost will depend on three main factors:Model Size: Whether you choose the 8-person or 12-person shelter.Delivery Distance: Mileage from our facility to your home. Contact us to see if you qualify for free shipping and installation!Soil Conditions: Standard digging is included, but if we hit solid rock and require jackhammering, additional equipment fees may apply.
